White-Johnson earned a BA (Visual Arts) from University of Maryland Baltimore County, as well as an MFA (Graphic Design) from Maryland Institute College of Art. She is currently an instructor for the Design Justice Initiative at the University of Minnesota School of Design. For the past ten years, she served as an assistant professor in Visual Communication and Digital Media Arts at Bowie State University.
